3,080-Graft Frontal Restoration After Prior SMP | Salt Lake City
Frontal Restoration After Prior SMP
A Salt Lake City frontal restoration case performed by Dr. Craig Barton using 3,080 grafts to restore Zones 1 and 2 and provide appropriate coverage for a prior SMP result visible in the before image.
Coverage, planning, and frontal framing.
This patient presented with prior SMP that was visible in the before photograph and required thoughtful frontal coverage. The surgical plan focused on Zones 1 and 2, where density, distribution, and hairline design have a significant effect on facial framing.
The result shown was sent by the patient more than one year after surgery. The outcome reflects a mature frontal restoration designed to soften the appearance of the prior SMP while rebuilding the visual structure of the frontal zone.
Designed around the existing canvas.
Repair-oriented cases require a different level of planning. The goal is not only to restore density, but to work with what is already present, including prior cosmetic work, skin contrast, and the patient’s existing pattern of hair loss.

Begin with a personalized restoration plan.
Every case starts with a clinical evaluation of your hair loss pattern, donor area, goals, and long-term strategy. For patients with prior SMP or prior cosmetic work, planning becomes especially important.
